(These
pictures start off just after Roscoe has finished up the
ice box update. He
has chosen to mount the AC/DC control panel up and behind the ice box
top on the cabinet.)
The job of rewiring got under way
today and I'll send you what I have done so far.
The bottom slat partly covers the joint
I had to cut to remove the refrig top. All slats are oak
and approx 1" X 1." These slats are held in place with stainless
steel screws. The top slat had to be fibreglasses in since to is
under the deck and toe rail bolts are directly behind it.
The Circuit Breaker back panel with
holes for wires and bus panels. Positive reference is oriented
vertical and ground is oriented as a horizontal connection.
The panel's are shown mounted on a teak
veneer 3/4" plywood front panel. Holes are laid out for the
switches and panels.
The battery charger/inverter combo with control panel.

I spent most of the day
putting the frame together, getting flat head brass machine
screws for mounting the panel and solid brass hinges. It
is completed ready for installation as soon as the back panel is
wired. First photo shows the holes being marked the next
completed. |

Grounding Bar |
|
Shown are the bulkhead ground bus
bars. The aft ground wires will be on one side and the foreword
goes to the other with the large battery cables going to the
7/16 bolts that holds the unit to the bulkhead. Drilling
both bars at the same time. 1/2" space between the #25
holes. Turning the 7/16 brass bolts from 5/8 hex stock.
The completed unit
I also
made the nuts but didn't take any photos of that. I'm also going
to make a pare for neutral will show the making of the nuts
then.
