The anchor locker on our 1969 P-35 was not very functional in that
it had no where for water from the rode or hawse pipe to go other
than to collect under the V-berth. We are planning to add an anchor
roller and hawse pipe but wanted a better anchor locker.
Attached
photos of rebuild of anchor locker to: Add bottom pan with drain &
hose which leads back to the main bilge Add shelf with drain holes
for rode The bottom pan is a fiberglass mat formed into the shape of
the bottom of the anchor locker. A 3/4" drain was glassed into the
pan and 20' of drain hose attached prior to glassing the pan into
the locker. As the pan was slid into place, the drain hose was fed
under the V-berth water tank and back to the main bilge.
Two
support stringers were then glassed in to support the shelf.
The shelf
is a 1/2" thick piece of plastic with drain holes. The shelf is
removable for access to the pan.
This was
only a small part of extensive rebuild of the interior including:
Varnishing all interior woodwork New cabin sole New head, holding
tank, plumbing, and thru hull (replaced the old Monomatic) New head
shower/sink sump Total galley rebuild including re-positioning of
the ice box and alcohol bottle cupboard Rebuilt the engine Replaced
all thru hulls Replaced all fresh water plumbing Replaced all AC
wiring Will post photos of some of the more interesting stuff.
