Just spent the winter upgrading many things! I do disagree with anyone who has filled the holes to keep water out of the bilge near the centerboard. If the water does not come out there then it will be trapped between the ballast and hull. Does anyone else agree ? |

Purchased the boat Dec 2008. Prior owner passed away and boat sat for about three years. Lots of defered maintenance (ex new thru hauls and valves), added elecrtro scan, replacing original water hoses, bottom paint, new vhf, repairing stay sail wire furler (if I can find parts), and the list keeps growing. Plan on keeping the boat in Anacortes WA for this year, then maybe move it to portland OR. |

I've managed to keep the boat in commission since I bought her 11 years ago with almost no professional help. However, I can't claim expertise in any area. My work to date has been solely upkeep no modifications. The winters are pretty severe in New Jersey, so it is hard to get any work done. When the weather gets warm I'd rather be sailing. I hold a USCG 100 GT near costal license. I do a lot of costal sailing between Sandy Hook NJ, Long Island NY, and southern New England. I've made one round trip to Bermuda, but not on my boat. |
